OK, being interested in D&T probably means you are regular students of navigating the unknown. For those who don’t know what film festival is supposed to be like, especially as a filmmaker here’s from a totally newbie. This is what I saw when arriving the Opening Night Premiere of movie “Jewtopia”:

Typical as you see on TV and events right?
And lost like a grain of send because everyone is a filmmaker.

But seconds later I was grabbed into that crowd.

After I got my filmmakers pass (Aww!!! I really wish it was Mu-Ming and Iris here wearing them) our AA+D Series programmer, who I couldn’t reach by calling, suddenly appeared and grabbed me to the forunt and said “ok you are going to introduce your film to the press camera. It’ll be live online. Remember to say World Premiere. What you wearing under your coat?”

No no I wasn’t expecting this at all, not in the press booth in front of the camera! But I successfully stammered through it with my modest dress =D

After Jewtopia, an entertaining and laughable film provocative of thoughts on culture stereotype was the opening night Gala. Programmer Leslie introduced me to the filmmaker of Blues Planet: Sounds, also holding World Premiere, an environmental film expressed through blues and his musician friends.

spent time with generation of wisdom at opening party :)

I was very lucky to meet Michael, writer and prior judge of Newport Beach Film Festival. We had such enjoyable time with him saying “the night is young” near 1am. I also met an anthropologist Linda with whom we chatted from Jewtopia to people watching at film fests.
